It brought uberBoda in 2018, Uber Lite and Uber Connect in 2019, and by its own account had created earning opportunities for just over 1,000 driver-partners — in a city where boda bodas employ hundreds of thousands of people and carry roughly a third of all public transport trips. Uber was visible in Uganda. It was never big in Uganda.
